Undoubtedly, it is best known for its 409 mountain gorillas, half of the world’s population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Observing the gorillas may only be done on foot, and only a limited number of viewing permits are issued daily, which helps to protect the endangered gorilla families.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park: Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla tracking at 8:00 a.m. in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

While this is a very challenging walk, it is surely one of the highlights of a trip to Uganda and possibly one of the all-time nature highlights of our travelers’ lives. Gorilla permits are strictly limited to protect these endangered species. Each group is limited to eight participants in a day.

We recommend you wear good walking boots/shoes and carry good rain gear and enough drinking water. Trekking can be tough and challenging, and so we trust you are in reasonably fit condition.
