31 May Uganda’s baby rhino named ‘Rhino Europe’
Earlier today 31/5/2018, the Hon Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, together with the Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Uganda, Ambassador Attilio Pacifici, Named the Baby Rhino adopted by the European Union, in a mini press conference held at the Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities.
The Baby Rhino was named “MUKASA EUROPE”, to represent the collaboration between Uganda and Europe. The Rhino Europe was born in February 2018, and is the 17th calf of the mother Kori, who was brought from Kenya to Uganda in 2005 along with three others. He is the most recent Rhino to have been born in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where there are Rhinos living in the Wild.
The Rhino, Europe, is and will stay at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and will be taken care of by the European Union hence forth, until its old age. Adopting this Rhino is one of the ways of supporting conservation and promoting Tourism worldwide.
