Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Gulu Via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Get on road trip to Gulu, on the way after 3 hours we stop at Nakitoma – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (*for an optional Rhino tracking cost $50 per person), home to 22 white rhinos.

The rhinos roam freely on 7000 hectares of land however  closely monitored 24 hours a day to protect them from poaching. Tracking and viewing the rhinos usually involves a short drive followed by 1 hour walking and viewing with a ranger. Closed shoes, long trousers and insect repellent are strongly recommended.

You’ll be guided on foot by an ranger to visit Uganda’s most endangered creature –  the Southern White Rhino. This is the only place in Uganda where they still survive and breed with the hopes of one day being reintroduced  back into one of the savannah parks.

After tracking proceed to Gulu town for the overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2: Drive to the Kidepo National Park

After a morning breakfast at the hotel/lodge and you will carry with you packed lunch as we drive to Kidepo Valley Africa’s finest wilderness through the plain lands of Acholi and partly Karamonja area.

Day 3: Morning & Evening Game Drive in Kidepo Valley

Catch yourself an early morning breakfast, then catch up with the African sun rise on an adventurous game drive in the park — enjoy sightings of herds of Elephants, Cape buffaloes, Giraffes, Lions and plenty more lunch at place of accommodation.

In the afternoon you’ll be joined by an expert ranger guide for a nature walk to explore the park on foot away from the steel clad of safari car sharing his knowledge of the Eco-system and also bring you closure to the animals.

Day 4: Game Drive and Kanangorok Hot Springs

Start this wilderness safari day with an early morning breakfast, then catch the sun rise behind the mountain before flooding the valley then off for the game drive to the ostrich farm it’s not any man made occurrence, but given the massive number of the birds one would compare it to this along the we shall be able to view, herds of elephants, Cape buffaloes, Giraffes, Lions and then the hot springs at Kanangorok, lunch at place of accommodation.

Day 5: Kotido — Karamojong Traditional Manyattas in Nakapirimoru

Today after breakfast on our kidepo valley national park tour we drive to Kotido to the village of Nakapirimoru to visit the Karamojong traditional Manyattas (homesteads) this particular one is as comparable to a city once viewed from a higher elevation and is said to rank among the firsts in east Africa.

The Karamonjong are a pastoral people and predominately breed cattle and goats, they are easily recognizable by their unique style of dress and beadings, our guide will take us through the homestead designs, local cuisines and meet the elders who will narrate the tribe’s folklore and beliefs. proceed and have overnight in Moroto.

Day 6: Sipi Falls — Coffee Tour

Go further south east toward the mountain Elgon region. Early morning departure for Sipi falls with a lunch break in Soroti town, thereafter continue to Sipi falls.

Today evening we go for a coffee tour. Experience ancient traditional way of processing coffee, from sorting, roasting to packing.

Day 7: Kampla via Jinja Source of The Nile

Drive your way back to Kampala on this last day, with a stopover in Jinja to visit the legendary source of the river Nile, here you will take a boat ride to view the point where the river leaves Lake Victoria, on its journey to the Mediterranean sea. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe.
